Friday, 22 March 2019, 9 – 11 am – A Special for Home Schoolers – Twist It Up Children’s Weaving Workshop With Indigo Buchanan

19/02/2019 By

This workshop is designed especially for Home Schooler’s accompanied by parent/s. School children not at School for some reason are also welcome. Please let other Home Schooler’s know about this day of creativity designed for all ages.   We will be learning all about how to make a basket with a twist weaving style using banana fibre. It will be a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing you there.

What you need to bring:
Water to drink, a snack and a cushion to sit on.
Any bling things that you would like to add into your basket – feathers, shells with holes in them, pretty bits of ribbon, wool, thread or strips of pretty material that you like.

Indigo has been learning all about weaving with natural fibres from various indigenous communities around Australia. She gives back to First Nations people whenever the opportunity arises. Indigo is passionate about connecting people through weaving and connecting all people to Country in a respectful way. She uses traditional fibre and many things that may grow in your garden. Weaving with invasive weeds like Cats Claw helps our native environment.

Booking is essential. To book click here
